Description roger spires 2010-03-15 13:35:14 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.4.1)
OS: Linux
Installed from: openSUSE RPMs

After setting up akonadi googledata and gcal resources they work while I am logged in. If I log out and log back in they are offline and must be restarted from the configuration module. The email address and password have to be reentered and then the resources sync and come back on line. Once online, they work without a hitch (that I know of). I have googled this and and was unable to find an answer to this. I also posted this in the opensuse and kde user forums and was told that I should reort a bug.

Hi,

Using:
- Kubuntu 10.04 Beta 2 (i386)
- KDE 4.4.2
- akonadi-server 1.3.1-0
- akonadi-kde-resource-googledata 1.0.1-1build1
- libgcal 0.9.3-1

I face the same problem. Every time the gcal-provider tries to connect to goolge while offline, it complains about a wrong password (bc it couldn't connect) and I have to reenter the username/pwd. This happens mostly on KDE-start when WIFI isn't connected yet but akonadi is started already because of the kmail tray icon. It is also quite annoying on a laptop which is offline from time to time.
This also happened to me under Kubuntu 9.10- but there with anoying error popup-messages all the time. This point has improved (under 10.04, the gcal provider fails silently and you have to open the akonadi helper programm to see that the provider complains about the password).
For me that's at the moment one main disadvantage compared to a thunderbird/gcal alternative. While online (and the provider being logged-in), the korganizer/gcal combination works like a charm. Thanks for that- I appreciate your work!

Could you check your KWallet for saved Akonadi passwords after it entering to
the form and after rebooting the system?
It is similar to https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=216817
