Description freeseek 2010-03-14 21:56:54 UTC
Version: 0.8.1 (using 4.4.1 (KDE 4.4.1), Kubuntu packages)
Compiler: cc
OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.31-20-generic

This is a minor problem but is completely reproducible. When I try to get a snapshot with KSnapshot using the "Section of Window" capture mode, I get to choose the section of a windows which I am interested in. The section gets highlighted with a red rectangle and then I click on it. But then I can see in the preview that the whole screen was taken for the snapshot and my selection was ignored. Saving the image yields indeed a picture of the whole screen. I never had a problem with this feature before, so it seems to me like a regression.

I had this problem in connection with the KWin desktop effect "Screenshot" (it was enabled by default).
After disabling the effect, ksnapshot worked again as expected.
