Version:            (using KDE 4.4.1)
OS:                Linux
Installed from:    openSUSE RPMs

Add a new panel. If you have one panel at the bottom, it appears at the top of the screen. Maximize the panel. It becomes ugly (half black) if compositing is disabled, like the screenshot I attach.

Also, if the desktop cashew is at the top corner or at the top of the screen, the panel hides it instead of moving it below the panel like windows.
