Version: (using KDE 4.4.1) Installed from: openSUSE RPMs This bug is new in KDE 4.4.1; this never happened in KDE 4.4.0. Reproducibility: Always Steps to reproduce: 1. Alt-F2 2. Start typing the name of a command, possibly including the path (e.g., /usr/bin/kon) Observed behaviour: 3. No completions are presented. Expected behaviour: 3. Various completions should have been presented, both in the input box and in the list below (e.g., /usr/bin/kontact; /usr/bin/konqueror). I have confirmed that "Command line" is checked in the Plugins configuration.
Should this -- in your opinion -- only happen for commands? E.g. if I was typing "/home/my_home/" should there also be auto-completion? A solution I am thinking of is to only use auto-completion for executeables in $PATH and only if at least 1-3 (I tend to 3) letters have been entered.
Btw. how did it work in 4.4.0? Were the results displayed with the application-icon or all with the same?
Is this report still valid Tristan please?
Confirming problem still exists with KDE 4.6. I can't test with anything more recent.
This seems like a useful thing to have. It's not there with Plasma 5. Converting this to a wishlist.
