Version: Version 1.13.1 (using KDE 4.4.1) OS: Linux Installed from: openSUSE RPMs If I compose in HTML mode (bold font or color,...), then all empty lines (^$) are removed when e-mail is received in any other e-mail clients different than kmail. The e-mail appears OK in Kmail's outbox and inbox (if I sent it to me), but empty lines aren't displayed in outlook or zimbra. Last fix for empty lines seems to be not fully operational. TXT messages works fine.
I can confirm this. The reasons are still the settings margin-top:0px; margin-bottom:0px in every paragraph of kmail produces. I am really interested who on earth put this in! The last change was only to override these settings locally in kmail viewer but others see that as intended by these ridiculous settings. Does anybody know where these settings are stored and maybe how to change them on permanent base? Everybody I know has these settings which make kmail's e-mails almost unreadable. Can anybody confirm other settings in his installation?
Please this bug is still there - Version 1.13.3 - Platform Version 4.4.3 (KDE 4.4.3) - kmail-4.4.3-210.5
I am sorry to hear that. I have not upgraded to 4.4.3 yet. Looks like we are the only alians bothered with this. Others do not care how their mails look out when they are received? KDE has only 5 users?
I think we are the only 2 persons which use Kmail in communication with Outlook/Zimbra clients. I can imagine thousands of bugs like this one when we will finally start with replacement of Kmail's composer by Khtml or WebKit composer - bug86423
Folks - this bug should be closed as it's a dupe of https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=207779.
Thank you for taking the time to file a bug report. KMail2 was released in 2011, and the entire code base went through significant changes. We are currently in the process of porting to Qt5 and KF5. It is unlikely that these bugs are still valid in KMail2. We welcome you to try out KMail 2 with the KDE 4.14 release and give your feedback.
