Version: (using KDE 4.3.2) OS: Linux Installed from: Ubuntu Packages I am using the plasma desktop in "Folder view", with the panel at the left, and several icons at the right. Desktop effects are "off". I find that the tooltips cause artifacts on the screen. This is easily reproducible, as follows. 1 - open any window, and place it adjacent to the panel, so that the panel's tooltips will appear above this window. 2 - activate a tooltip on the panel, so that it appears above the window - see screenshot 1 below. Wait for the tooltip to disappear after a few seconds. 3 - move the mouse to the right of the screen, and hover over one of the desktop icons. When the tooltip appears, the location of the previous panel tooltip will be replaced by an ugly artifact, (being the contents of the underlying desktop background). See screenshot 2 for what it then looks like.
