Description David Rankin 2010-03-03 00:51:14 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.4.0)
Installed from: openSUSE RPMs

KDE44 with firefox and thunderbird set as the users preferred applications in systemsettings seems to be ignored. Clicking on any email address (even in thunderbird) launches Akonadi server which launches kmail "new message" to send to the email address.

That's not supposed to happen. I should have thunderbird launch it's new message for the email address. What can I send that will help solve this?

Thanks.

What this "default application" module does is just update some global flags that all KDE applications will/should respect. If you find some KDE application does respect that, it is a valid bug. But there is no guarantee non-KDE applications will also respect those flags when running in the KDE environment. Firefox/Thunderbird are also fameous for having their own independent settings.

Anyway, I also use thunderbird as my preferred mail client, and all KDE applications I use respect that setting.
