Description m.wege 2010-02-26 15:37:41 UTC
Version: unknown (using 4.4.00 (KDE 4.4.0), Kubuntu packages)
Compiler: cc
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.31-20-generic

When I use WICD as network manager KDE can not connect to the time server, when try to adjust the time. All other network stuff seems to work, seems like there is a problem with right or that WICD is not been set as network manager in root processes.

Can you check if wicd is the first backend in systemsettings -> Information Sources. Also, execute kdebugdialog, search for the string "network", click on "Enable all" button, then "Ok" button, and then send me the output of the command:

solid-network query status

I commited a wicd backend to kded's networkstatus module, it should fix this problem. Please try it when 4.7.1 is released this week and report if it fixes your problem.
