Description Luke-Jr 2010-02-25 17:47:34 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.3.5)
Compiler: gcc (Gentoo 4.3.4 p1.0, pie-10.1.5) 4.3.4
OS: Linux
Installed from: Gentoo Packages

Despite rebuilding with -ggdb, KDE won't give me any useful debug info for this crash. It is a regression from 4.3.3.

- Did you set the "nostrip" feature ?
(get more information at http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/qa/backtraces.xml)
Regards
Comment 2 Luke-Jr 2010-02-26 04:58:54 UTC
I set 'splitdebug', which I have seen work before just fine.
Comment 3 Oswald Buddenhagen 2010-02-28 15:49:10 UTC
please read the kdm README to learn how to obtain a backtrace. if that still doesn't work, then either your build or your gdb version is broken.
Comment 4 Oswald Buddenhagen 2010-04-07 00:23:16 UTC
still waiting ...
Comment 5 Luke-Jr 2010-04-13 03:00:24 UTC
Sorry, I can't figure out any way to get any more info...
Comment 6 Oswald Buddenhagen 2010-04-13 10:26:33 UTC
and why exactly are you reopening it then? the report is useless and cannot be acted upon. period.
you may have more luck by filing it with gentoo to have it pre-analyzed.

KDM is unmaintained and not used in KDE Plasma 5.

SDDM is the login manager used in KDE Plasma 5. If you still have this same issue with SDDM, please file an issue on the SDDM bugtracker (after doing a search for existing issues first!): https://github.com/sddm/sddm/issues/
