Description refresh01 2010-02-25 15:24:08 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.4.0)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

Idea is for those of us who are too lazy to switch to browser window and search manualy.
So, an Amarok2 last.fm applet (similar to wikipedia applet) that is to be placed in Context part of the layout. It would search last.fm artist database and show all relevant data from there (Artist name, photo, total number of plays and plays in your library, tags, similar artists, albums, upcoming shows etc.).

Later on (if idea lives) you could implement some kind of auto-tagging using those existing last.fm tags (wishlist is already filled for that if I'm not mistaking).

PS Maybe even possibility of searching not only artist, but albums, songs etc. (Wikipedia applet has that option in upper-right corner). I guess you get the idea by now. Cheers!

This sounds like a great idea.
Maybe the wikipedia should be adapted into a generic web applet to include both wikipedia and last.fm in a configuration option.

Basically this applet is there for 2.3.1 now.

If specific features are missing please file separate bugs for each one. But it's already damn good. :)

This is about the current artist and not similar ones... *damn*
