Description Christian 2010-02-23 10:23:06 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.4.0)
Installed from: Archlinux Packages

When I try to copy and past something among two kde programs, i.e. from Kate to Konsole, if I do the following steps I lose the clipboard content:

_ highlight some text from any program
_ copy to clipboard
_ close that program
_ try to paste the clipboard content into another place

I don't have Klipper active, because I don't need to mantain a complex clipboard stack

The fast copy-and-paste I get just highlighting some text and then pasting it clicking the middle mouse button doesn't seem affected

It is normal that clipboard contents are lost when the owning application quits, and Klipper is exactly the tool to handle this problem.
Comment 2 Christian 2010-02-26 15:08:04 UTC
is it normal? in Windows the normal behaviour is to use a centralized stack for copy and paste, if you tell me that to replicate this behaviour I have to keep another program like Klipper opened...

probably Kde choosed this way for performance issues...

so you can discard this not-bug ;)
