Description ingo 2010-02-23 08:20:16 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.4.0)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Archlinux Packages

64-bit up-to-date archlinux system with kde4.4

Move to any BBC Olympics site (such as http://www.bbc.co.uk/cgi-bin/search/results.pl?go=homepage&scope=all&q=olympics&Search=Search) with Konqueror will cause it to hang for some 10 to 20 seconds before it renders the site incompletely.

Same behaviour is displayed by Akregator when asked to display web pages.

It looks fine to me here (but they might be sending different stuff outside the UK)
Comment 2 Maksim Orlovich 2010-02-23 16:38:02 UTC
Ah, I see what you mean -- you meant one of the pages linked to from there, not the search page. Confirming (no freeze, though)

Dear user,

KHTML (and KJS) was a long time more or less unmaintained and got removed in KF6.

Please migrate to use a QWebEngine based HTML component.

We will do no further fixes or improvements to the KF5 branches of these components beside important security fixes.

For security issues, please see:

https://kde.org/info/security/

Sorry that we did not fix this issue during the life-time of KHTML.

Greetings
Christoph Cullmann
