Description Tristan Miller 2010-02-22 15:42:47 UTC
Version:            (using KDE 4.4.0)
Installed from:    openSUSE RPMs

In previous versions of KMail, the following commands were available in the Message pull-down menu:

Forward->As Attachment
Forward->Inline
Forward->Redirect
Forward->With Custom Template

In KMail 1.13.0 (KDE 4.4.0), only the last of these is shown. The first three are accessible only via keyboard shortcuts or the context menu.

Can't see this problem here (openSuse 11.2).
Kmail 4.4.0 still has the submenu in both the menubar and the context menu.

Please don't close bug reports as WORKSFORME without asking the reporter for further details. Just because you can't reproduce the bug doesn't mean the reporter can't.

I was able to discover a more precise set of circumstances under which this bug appears:

1. Launch Kontact. I have KMail set to be the default application shown on startup.
2. Visit the Message->Forward menu. All the commands in the submenu seem to be there.
3. Switch to another application in Kontact, such as KNode.
4. Switch back to KMail.
3. Visit the Message->Forward menu. Now all the commands in the submenu are missing except for "With Custom Template".

So clearly this bug is linked to KMail's behaviour *within* Kontact. I will attach a video showing how to produce the bug through the above steps.

Confirming bug still exists in KDE 4.5.

Thank you for taking the time to file a bug report.

KMail2 was released in 2011, and the entire code base went through significant changes. We are currently in the process of porting to Qt5 and KF5. It is unlikely that these bugs are still valid in KMail2.

We welcome you to try out KMail 2 with the KDE 4.14 release and give your feedback.
