Same constellation. Watching flv with vlc. Additionally, this time I was surfing with Firefox as the crash happened.

The crash seems to be related to the CWP widget.
- Does the random crashes stop if you remove it from your Plasma Desktop ?
- Did you recompiled it / reinstalled it after updating to KDE SC 4.4. ?

- Did you recompiled it / reinstalled it after updating to KDE SC 4.4. ?

First of all I didn't compile CWP, but installed it from the Ubuntu repository (version 0.9.12). And I did not reinstall it after updating to KDE SC 4.4.

We'll see. For now, I reinstalled the widget. If that doesn't help, I'll remove the widget.(In reply to comment #2)

Reinstalling doesn't help. Plasma still crashes.

Now I removed cwp from the control bar and keep watching.
Comment 5 spielmail 2010-02-24 17:00:47 UTC
Ok, three days without cwp and Plasma didn't crash a single time.

So indeed, cwp in the control panel caused Plasma to crash.
