Description am 2010-02-18 06:48:50 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.4.0)
OS: Linux
Installed from: openSUSE RPMs

When I drag a file or folder in dolphin window, and use the "present windows" effect in Kwin while dragging the file to another dolphin window, after I select the dolphin window that I want and drag the file in it dolphin crashes. I used GDB to try to get a crash report, but it gave me a message that the bug report was useless, so I do not think I should post it.

Try installing the "kdebase4-workspace-debuginfo", "kdebase4-debuginfo" and "kdelibs5-debuginfo" packages in order to get a better backtrace.

This could be related to bug 203887 / bug 200583.

I installed the packages that you said I should install. Once I did GDB gave
me a different message, it told me a crash report was needed, and it also
stated that the information I provide is considered helpful enough in this
case. The bug occurs when I drag a file or folder from one dolphin window
use a keyboard shortcut to activate the "present Windows" feature and switch
to another dolphin window and place the file in that window. I also noticed
the same thing occurs on both kde 4.4 and 4.3.5. I do not think this issue
occurs only on my computer, because my friend has a different computer with
different specs, with kde 4.3.5 and the same thing happens to him.

Sincerely,

Am

- Can you post a complete backtrace here? (you can get more information at http://techbase.kde.org/User:DarioAndres/Basic_Guide_about_Crash_Reporting#Generating_a_new_backtrace ) Thanks
