Session manager sequence progresses normally, delays at the end, then fades to black screen with crash dialog.  Removing ~/.kde does not affect result; login music is heard.  Can log out with 3-finger salute.

3rd party wallpaper, widgets include Play Wolf, binary clock, moon phase, and home folder.
