Version: (using KDE 4.3.2) Installed from: Ubuntu Packages Hey there, I'm curious if the kioslave-concept would work with internet video platforms like Youtube. If there is e.g. a Youtube-URL like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aEuapaLJF8g A Youtube-kioslave could take an URI like this as input: youtube://aEuapaLJF8g The "directory" behind this URI could show the different videos which are online at Youtube. (There are usually different resolutions of the Video, different formats like flv or mp4 etc. Each video could be displayed by one "file") Additionally to the videos which are online there could be "files" which could be converted from the online ones. Examples would be MP3 and other formats. The name of the files could be the title of the video. By providing such a kioslave a user could easily enhance his media-library with new videos and music. Think of an Amarok-Library which completely consist of songs and videos from Dailymotion, Youtube, Google Video etc. Music would not need to exist physically on the HDD of the user anymore. A library with thousands of songs would be just some kB in size (there are just metadata which needs to be stored along with the URI). Sharing libraries would be easy too, because the songs in the lib would be playable on every PC with internet-access. Perhaps a concept like this needs to be discussed before implementing it, because there are AGBs and Copyright-issues to be cleared up.
