Description Tristan Miller 2010-02-16 17:53:12 UTC
Version:            (using KDE 4.4.0)
Installed from:    openSUSE RPMs

KNode and KMail perform similar functions and use a similar interface. However, their default keyboard shortcuts for the same commands are different. This often leads to mode errors when the user forgets which application he is in. To prevent such problems, and to reduce the burden on the user of learning two separate sets of shortcuts, please unify the default keyboard shortcuts for commands which are identical or analogous.

Examples of shortcuts which should be unified:

Command				KMail	KNode
-------				-----	-----
Next unread message		+	Alt+Shift+Space
Previous unread message		-	Shift+Space
Next (unread) folder		Alt++	+
Previous (unread) folder	Alt+-	-
Get new messages in folder	F5	(none)
Mark message as read (none)	D
Mark message as unread Ctrl+U	U

There are many more that can be found by browsing the shortcuts in Settings->Configure Shortcuts…

See Bug 227223 for the corresponding KNode report.

Thank you for your feature request. Kmail1 is currently unmaintained so we are closing all wishes. Please feel free to reopen a feature request for Kmail2 if it has not already been implemented.
Thank you for your understanding.

Instead of creating a new feature request, please confirm here if the wishlist is still valid for kmail2.
