Description christian.lange 2010-02-15 16:51:47 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.4.0)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Gentoo Packages

kopete should close an OTR session when the other contact is or goes offline. Mostly the other client does not close the otr session correctly because of a disconnection by provider, a program crash etc. Some clients do not support sending a disconnection when going offline. In this cases kopete keeps the otr session and goes on sending encryptet messages that are unreadable for the other.

It is a better idea to close the session with a short warning, that messages to the offline contact are now unencrypted. Keeping the otr session with an offline contact is not useful, because the messages are unreadable.
