Version: 1.0.0 (using KDE 4.4.0) Installed from: Archlinux Packages Since the update to KDE 4.4 and Kopete 1.0.0 yesterdays no more smileys are visible in the chat window. This means if I insert them via text in the input area and send the message, the smiley text is simply replaced with nothing. A strange thing is that I restore the last few history entries on opening a new chat window. The history in the chat window that was still generated with the kde 4.3.4 version of kopete contains the smileys as usual. Creating a new message with a smiley, closing the chat window and reopening it doesn't show a smiley in the restored history. I also tried switching between the various sets of emoticons installed on my system. None of them works.
Hm, strange, this only happens until I receive the first message of a contact at the runtime of kopete. From that moment on smileys work as expected even after closing the chat window.
For me, this only happens when OTR is running. Otherwise smilies work as usual. The receiver does not see any smilies either.
Ok, I can confirm this. Seems to happen only with otr switched on.

Same is true for self compiled gentoo packages.
Looks good now with Kopete 1.0.0 and KDE 4.4.1.
Yes, I can confirm that this is fixed with the 4.4.1 release.
