Version: unknown (using 4.4.00 (KDE 4.4.0), Arch Linux) Compiler: gcc OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.32-ARCH When I open many windows, on minimize, some of them minimize to somewhere other than the takebar. For instance, with Magic Lamp effect activated, some minimize to the Upper right corner; or with the Minimize effect, some minimize to the center. It can be reproduced with many (for me>5~6) open windows and then with minimizing them (With one of the minimize effects on). It can be observed.
UPDATE: I can produce it with even 2 or 1 open windows. It might has nothing to do with the Multiple windows. Also when I change the Workspace for the buggy window, the problem disappears (cannot confirm it always) and when return it to the same workspace, the bug returns [If the number of the windows hasn't been changed e.g. close/open] And it has nothing to do with the Maximized State of the windows.
i assume you only show minimized windows in the taskbar? in case, the reason is that the taskbar does yet not hint where to mminimize when the minimization takes place. (iirc, there'd also be another report for this around) the magiclamp now "slurps" into the pointer in this case (used to be "somewhere" to the lower screenborder)
Well, I don't use 'only show tasks that are minimized' I just use the current workspace. And I installed the latest 'Smooth Tasks' widget and it seems to work just fine (will update if there was a bug).
(In reply to comment #3) > workspace. And I installed the latest 'Smooth Tasks' widget and it seems to > work just fine (will update if there was a bug). Does that mean "it works with a 3rd party taskbar, but not with the default plasmoid"?
It is strange for me too, but till now it has worked fine. Still need time to test it on the Smooth Tasks and be sure of it.
Reassigning to Plasma. I noticed for myself that sometimes the Icon Geometry is not set. This is definately for the case of window groups in the task applet.
