Version: (using KDE 4.4.0) OS: Linux Installed from: Archlinux Packages wetter.com source for weather wallpaper is not working: every city i tried to search i get a warning massage like "Impossible to find <<name_of_the_city>>" BBC source is working well instead.
Actually the wetter.com source doesn't work at all. I tried it with all "official" weather applets from KDE SC 4.4 and it is everywhere the same: There can't be found any city.
It worked until ~one week ago i.e. before final.
I suspect that the number of queries issued against the API has exceeded the monthly quota. I do not exactly remember who exchanged the project name and API key right before the release, but I was under the impression that this key was an unlimited one. Unfortunately, I cannot check myself as I do not know the credentials associated with that key.
I think I know what is wrong... I have contacted wetter.com and asked them to lift the query quota on the API account used by the wetter.com Ion and will update this ticket as soon as I get a response from them.
Now it seems to be able to find cities but it doesn't set custom wallpaper: it automatically sets the default one.
Thanks for your feedback. So, I guess this bug can be considered solved. The wallpaper issue is not a bug as the wetter.com API does not provide the current weather condition, but only the forecast, so there is no weather data to base the wallpaper on. Unfortunately, I do not seem to have the privileges to mark this bug as closed. Maybe someone can close it.

But it's a bit confusing for the user. I think wetter.com shouldn't appear in the list of source for the wallpaper plugin then. However at wetter.com i can see actual weather but maybe the API doesn't provide it anyway. Am i right? > Unfortunately, I do not seem to have the privileges to mark this bug as closed. > Maybe someone can close it. I marked as fixed.

I'd propose to file a wishlist entry for this as it probably requires the addition of meta data about the supported types of weather data to the ion specification, which in addition needs to be queried by the the respective plasmoids displaying the weather data. > However at wetter.com i can see actual weather but maybe the API doesn't > provide it anyway. Am i right? Exactly. Only a subset of the data visible on wetter.com is available via the free version of the XML API. Unfortunately, this limitation excludes the current weather information. These would require a paid account. > > Unfortunately, I do not seem to have the privileges to mark this bug as > > closed. Maybe someone can close it. > > I marked as fixed. Thanks!
