Version: (using KDE 4.4.0) OS: Linux Installed from: Gentoo Packages Using the Air theme, after logging in (or sometimes when changing the screen resolution from a smaller one) the left half of the panel's background is black (but still shows the lines from the round squares that are on every widget's background with Air) while the right half is rendered correctly. Restarting plasma (kquitapp plasma-desktop && kstart plasma-desktop) does not change anything (I guess the background is cached?). Changing to another theme and back again works around this problem but after restarting plasma the panel background is broken again.

From bug 226637: --- Since updating to KDE 4.4, I observe a problem with the left half of the taskbar, where there appears to be some image overlay interfering with what should be on the screen. If this bug tracker lets me attack files, I'll provide the screenshot.

This is likely to be related to bug 224666, but I can't be 100% sure. Regards
Yes, bug 224666 seems to be the same problem (I too have compositing disabled). Sorry for the duplicate report.
Merging with bug 224666. Thanks *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 224666 ***
