Description Burkhard Lück 2010-02-12 17:57:02 UTC
Version: (using Devel)
Installed from: Compiled sources

Launch Printer Configuration and select New Printer in the dialog.
Then you see in the right part of the dialog two buttons.
The first is labeled "New Network Printer" and has the description "Add a new printer which is connected to your home network or on the Internet."

But this is apparently wrong and should be labeled "Add Printer", because if you click this button, you are presented a list of different printer types (local parallel+serial, network printers via JetDirect/IPP/Samba and others).

Seems to be fixed with http://websvn.kde.org/?view=revision&revision=1221301 ?

"system-config-printer-kde" is no longer maintained and has been replaced with "Print Manager" since KDE 4.10. The new version is a C++ rewrite of the old Python version, and may still lack some features or have some bugs.

If this or another issue still needs to be addressed in KDE 4.10 or newer, please add a comment, or report it for "Print Manager".
