Version: 1.13.0 (using 4.4.00 (KDE 4.4.0), Chakra) Compiler: gcc OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.32-ARCH The wonderful new akonadi-based KAddresbook supports groups, but I can not address an email to a group, it is not available in kmail contact listings. I can not drag it to the To field in email composer either (I can not drag single contacts there etiher.)
It seems groups are not yet implemented in kmail 4.4 with kaddressbook already using Akonadi... Dragging a single contact from kaddressbook into a To/CC/.. field in the kmail composer works for me, though.
This is a pretty severe bug, as even though KMail doesn't support sending mail to contact groups, they do show up in address autocompletion. KMail happily lets you select a contact group as a recipient, but when it actually sends the message it treats the contact group name as an e-mail address (appending the default domain). Thus users may end up sending mail to people they did not intend as recipients.
By the way, the bug is still present in KDE 4.4.2.
Tobias fixed contact groups for KMail 2, everything should work there as expected. Will backported contact group expansion to 4.4.3, but I think the recipient widget can't show them there.
Wonderful, that will make life *much* easier :-)
Not fixed in 4.4.3.
When and what KDE version is Kmail 2 expected to be released?
After upgrading to kde 4.4.80 (4.5 beta1 ) with kmail 1.13.3 this is now working for me.
