Description Piotr 2010-02-11 09:08:23 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.4.0)
Compiler: Arch Linux
OS: Linux
Installed from: Archlinux Packages

The album scanning is behaving VERY unpreditable, if i have an album correctly found by amarok (attachment #1 [details]) and i hit rescan this happens (attachment #2 [details]). If i click rescan colection enough times (it is rather random and unpredictable) it will become normal again but if i add additional album it will crap out all over again. If i close amarok it will show all the albums correctly even if they were shown badly earlier.

After scan number 2

This is after scanning but shown what is in the empty albums.
Comment 4 Piotr 2010-02-11 09:13:10 UTC
This ONLY happens if i have Album as the first one in the sort options. If i have artist as the first level it behaves correctly.

And what exact Amarok version are you talking about?
JFYI: After an upgrade a full rescan is requested, followed by a restart of Amarok, due to database version changes

Yes, i just wanted to post version stupid me, i am talking about the 2.2.2 version on a fresh Arch install from yesterday. Weirdly amarok shows KDE's version as 4.3.4.
Comment 7 Piotr 2010-02-11 09:27:32 UTC
Now, if i clean everything from amarok (from share and config folders), from /tmp (just to be sure, i delete everything with amarok in it's name) and start amarok fresh it will display artist first (many as various artists where it shows albums) and years, it displays everything correctly. When i changed to display it as albums it displayed correctly. Now when i deleted an album to force it to rescan by itself it showed everything correctly BUT if i click Full Rescan it messes up the albums.

The "About KDE" shows correct version, Amarok shows 4.3.4

Because you need to click on "About Amarok" :) And it most likely shows the KDE version to be 4.3.4 because it has been compiled against that version.

As for your bug report, this is most likely a duplicate of bug 172542
