Description lexual 2010-02-10 03:54:47 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.3.5)
Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages

This problem appears to exist at least for wikipedia, album cover and lyrics part of amarok.

Most of my collection is tagged in the form "Surname, Firstname" so that for example Bob Dylan, Miles Davis, Daft Punk, and Dire Straits all show up together with all the other D's.

So I have tagged "Dylan, Bob" compared to "Bob Dylan".
"Davis, Miles" and not "Miles Davis".

Amarok doesn't handle this at all well.

e.g.
Listen to Bob Dylan track and no lyrics or wikipedia entries, or album covers are found.
This is tagged as "Dylan, Bob".
Once I retag file to "Bob Dylan" then wikipedia, etc work correctly.

Thanks,

Lex.

Pushin to wishlist. What Amarok version is this about?
Comment 2 lexual 2010-02-10 11:48:51 UTC
2.2.1

I think "Dylan, Bob".

A better is "Davis, Miles" not working, but "Miles Davis" does work.

I stronlgy suggest to upgrade to Amarok 2.2.2, there have been many changes, even if not this one
Comment 4 lexual 2010-02-11 00:49:46 UTC
Yes this bug still exists with 2.2.2

I don't understand suggesting upgrading when you have already conceded that the bug isn't fixed in that release.
Comment 5 Myriam Schweingruber 2010-02-11 00:55:51 UTC
Because there are a lot of other bug fixes :)
Comment 6 BugFinder 2010-06-20 21:43:17 UTC
I confirm this behavior also in amarok 2.3.1!

This is a duplicate of 90095 (see especially the third paragraph in its start post).
