It would be a lovely feature to improove productivity when backing up large amounts of data.

I think this could be done in 2 ways: 

a)Allowing more than 1 instance of K3b running at the same time, and detecting which devices are already in use.

b)Not freezing K3b when burning. Raise a new window for each burning process running and freezing only the project tab that lead to that process.

Seconded. I'm ripping a dvd right now, and I tried to burn a cd meanwhile but k3b stops me, so I figured I'd spend the 10 minutes that are remaining of the rip to submit a wish, but apparently I'm not the only one who misses this. :-)
