Description Panagiotis Papadopoulos 2010-02-07 12:58:26 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.4.0)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Unlisted Binary Package

I think it would be cool if rekonq had support for themes for the New Tab Page. An additional feature would be if there was KGetHotNewStuff and kde-look.org integration. :-)

(Lionel had the idea of adding support for New Tab Page themes some time ago, this is just a wish to not forget about it :-))

I think rekonq do not need theme support but should follow plasma style when showing new tab page...

Probably would be wiser to default to the window style background, and provide an option to use a custom wallpaper. A 3 in 1 fix: the default gets visually integrated into the window; a default background is provided for those who want it as it is now; and KGetHotNewStuff is automatically integrated since it's probably possible to reuse the same Plasma Desktop background backend to choose a file.

Rekonq shouldn't be coupled so tightly to Plasma, that wouldn't make it easier for it be rendered standalone (outside of Plasma).

Development on Rekonq ceased four years ago, and it has been unmaintained since then. KDE recommends using Falkon instead.
