Version: (using KDE 4.4.0) Installed from: openSUSE RPMs Right now, preview for odf/krita office files is turned of by default in Dolphin. It would be better to turn it on by default since all odf/krita files contain a preview thumbnail, so previews can be very fast. Also, if I turn this on manually in dolphin, I have to turn it on in Konqueror again, and neither setting is carried over to the file dialog settings, and there I cannot change anything at all.
Not sure about the "by default" bit. On my install (Kubuntu Lucid AMD 64 ,KDE 4.4 final from default repos) I don't see any previews of Koffice files in Dolphin, ever. I've got koffice files checked in the preview tabs of both Dolphin and Konqueror, yet I still don't see any previews of either .kra's or .odg's. Is there a setting I'm missing? I'm using files that are well under the maximum file size setting (ie 1.9mb) I get the same behavior in both the file icon in the main section of Dolphin, and also in the information docker. I'm using Dolphin 1.4 and Koffice revision 1092481. Is there any way of tracing the problem? I tried opening Dolphin in the Konsole to look for errors, but it doesn't seem to output anything visible.
Forget that last comment. After the upgrade to KDE 4.4 and setting the environment variables, I now have Koffice / Krita document previews and thumbnails... after I enable it in the Dolphin settings. As requested by boud, it would be appreciated though if Dolphin would show Koffice previews by default.
