Description André Neves 2010-02-02 14:31:28 UTC
Version: 0.80.2 (using 4.3.4 (KDE 4.3.4), Debian packages)
Compiler: cc
OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.32-trunk-amd64

While using Kopete and listening music on Amarok, every time I receive a message, along with Kopete's audio notification the music gets really loud, as if Kopete raised Amarok's mixer during its notification.

After Kopete's sound finishes, Amarok's volume gets normal again.

I'm using PulseAudio and adjusting volumes with pavucontrol. I wonder if Kopete is playing nice with PulseAudio?

I have the same problem.
Master volume goes at 100% when i receive a message, but for me never gets normal again.
It happens only when hearing music by Amarok and not by other programs.
Comment 2 Anthony Winslow 2010-12-12 09:26:46 UTC
happens to me, as well. this bug causes me physical pain. however i'm not using amarok, i'm using MPD.
Comment 3 Matěj Laitl 2011-06-07 00:00:00 UTC
This happens to me too, but not with Kopete but system bell generated by Konsole. Every time the system bell notification is invoked 3 times in quick succession, pulseaudio resets volume to 100% and the _next_ (not the current) song played by Amarok plays really loud.

So I think this bug should be reassigned to knotify.

Hi!

Unfortunately I cannot do as you ask, since I don't even use Linux anymore.

Best of luck,
André
