Description Guillaume Benny 2010-01-31 14:02:04 UTC
Version: 1.0.0 (using KDE 4.3.3)
Compiler: gcc 4.3.4
OS: Linux
Installed from: Gentoo Packages

The Edit Coordinates and the Track List Editor doesn't show the map from google anymore. It worked for a few days and it stopped working. It's been 3 or 4 days now and it still doesn't work. In fact, I've tried all php files from http://digikam3rdparty.free.fr/gpslocator/ and none work, except getlonlatalt-test.php. All others shows nothing at all.

I've changed the source of the version 1.0.0 to point to getlonlatalt-test.php instead of getlonlatalt.php, and everything works fine now.

It not the same problem as the problem with the satellite view since I still have this problem sometimes. And it's not that my IP was banned since I've tried resetting my internet connection to get a new IP and I still have the problem: only getlonlatalt-test.php works.

Hope this helps anyone with the same problem.

I can not reproduce the problem, neither with the gpssync-plugin nor with Firefox nor Konqueror :-(

Could you please try:
http://digikam3rdparty.free.fr/gpslocator/getlonlatalt.php?gmapsversion=3&altitudeservice=none
http://digikam3rdparty.free.fr/gpslocator/getlonlatalt.php?gmapsversion=2&altitudeservice=none
http://digikam3rdparty.free.fr/gpslocator/getlonlatalt2.php?gmapsversion=2&altitudeservice=none

If you run them in Firefox, you could also have a look at Tools->Error Console. Clear it before you load the pages to only see errors coming from these pages.

As a last resort, we should check the source code of the results from the scripts - just to be sure that free.fr does not insert any javascript code to serve ads to French-speaking people. In Firefox, you can go to View->Page Source to access the source code.

When I read "code to serve ads" in your comment, I understood immediatly: it's the AdBlock feature that is doing this! My AdBlock settings in Firefox and in Konqueror is way too stick and is creating this problem even if it's not creating any problems on http://maps.google.com/ .

I've disable the adbloking in Konqueror and reinstalled the original 1.0.0 version and everything is fine now.

I'm closing this bug. Thanks for your help! I hope this bug report will help others with the same problem.
