What I was doing when the application crashed:
I was playing World of Warcraft under WINE, windowed but maximized, with a Pidgin chat window and a Ventrilo window behind it.

1. I clicked on the taskbar entry for Ventrilo (which runs under WINE). It didn't appear within 2 seconds, so...
2. I clicked on the taskbar entry for Pidgin's chats. It didn't appear in ~2 seconds, so...
3. I went back to Warcraft by clicking on its window.
4. Plasma crashed: The taskbar disappeared
