Version: 4.3.95 (KDE 4.3.95 (KDE 4.4 RC2)) (using 4.3.95 (KDE 4.3.95 (KDE 4.4 RC2)), Kubuntu packages)
Compiler: cc
OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.31-17-generic

When trying applets of demo applets as typically supplied by sun like :
/usr/local/java/jdk1.6.0_16/demo/applets/GraphLayout/example2.html
konqueros does not play them ; it has been like this for months foll all Konqueror versions supplied with karmic kaalo distro.

- Are Java and plugins enabled in the Konqueror Settings ?
Do you have any other non-default setting ?

Comment 2 Maksim Orlovich 2010-01-29 18:14:53 UTC
Also, is the java executable in the path, or is the settings for it set to provide full path?

I have this setting for 64 bit machine in Konqueror setting :
- always activate java checked,
- java location : /usr/local/java/jdk1.6.0_16/bin/java
but is is the same if I do :
- java location :java

For example with /usr/local/java/jdk1.7.0/demo/applets/GraphLayout/example1.html
I get siimply what is supplied in attachemnet
Comment 5 Dario Andres 2010-01-31 19:10:54 UTC
So Java is running but the content is not being rendered properly ?
- Did you tested this on Firefox or another webbrowser ? (which would be using the same Java VM) ?
- What about another online page like http://www.its.caltech.edu/~dannyc/fractals/simple.html ?

Here are some test report conducted with Konqueror 4.3.95 (KDE 4.4 RC2) :

It looks like is is troublesome when the applet is run when there is already an instance de Konqueror opened :

1) I open with Dolphin the folder where all the sun applets are stored ; I open the folder "GraphLayout" and I click on "example4.html : it opens konqueror and I see only the boxes "Scrample" "Shake" "Stress" "Random" ; I click on "Shake" I have the sound as expected but still no graphic display inside the rectangle ; I close everything.
2) I open Konqueror and I use the filer with :
file ://path_of_folder_where_applets_are_stored ; I click on "example4.html" : same as above ; I leave this instance of Konqueror as is I mean opened.
3) I do the same as 2 in a new instance of Konqueror it works fine : the applet runs as expected but still nothing in the other instance of konqueror.

Very cahotic !
Regards
