Description Robin Green 2010-01-22 10:57:23 UTC
Version: (using Devel)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Compiled sources

I attempted to open the URL

http://bugzilla.rpmfusion.org/token.cgi?t=dAzFofETKt&a=request_new_account

from emacs. This URL redirects to a HTTPS URL with a certificate that could not be verified. After asking me whether I want to continue loading the page or not, KDE just shows "1 running job (0 seconds remaining)" indefinitely.

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open the above URL by running: xdg-open 'http://bugzilla.rpmfusion.org/token.cgi?t=dAzFofETKt&a=request_new_account'
2. When the dialog box about the untrusted HTTP connection appears, choose
Continue

Actual results:
KDE gets stuck displaying "1 running job (0 seconds remaining)"

Expected results:
URL should open in Konqueror

not reproducible by me using kde-4.4.5 or kde-4.5.2.

Mind retesting?
Comment 2 Robin Green 2010-10-22 17:27:11 UTC
Was Konqueror already running when you tried to reproduce this? If so, please try without Konqueror already running.
Comment 3 Rex Dieter 2010-10-22 17:29:03 UTC
Tried both ways.

That URL seems no longer suitable for testing (no certificate question ). I have never encountere the reported problem when being asked for such question in other sites.

Feel free to reopen the report if the problem still happens in recent versions ( KDE SC 4.8.4 or higher). Thanks.
Comment 5 Robin Green 2012-07-21 17:07:37 UTC
Still present in KDE 4.8.4, but only reproducable on Fedora (not on Gentoo).

In Fedora I still get a certificate question for that URL because the CA is not included in Fedora's CA list, but feel free to substitute any other URL which refers to a site with a certificate problem - it doesn't matter what the URL is.

Since this was only happening in Fedora as of last observation in 2012, please file it there.
