Description Martin L ü c h e m 2010-01-22 09:15:00 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.3.4)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages

I use my Notebook connected to a port replicater and an external Screen with higher resolution. Very often KDE crashes when

- I try to switch between X-consoles (different users)

- I release the notebook from the port replicator

This problem has high severity because in this case when rebooting Linux my system partition will always be checked what in reality means: The crash produces file system errors!

classical x server - probably driver - problem.
if you are using closed-source nvidia or ati drivers, report to them. otherwise, report to xorg.

btw, in this case it is "safety", not "security".
