Description Paul Koerbitz 2010-01-17 14:10:10 UTC
Application: plasma-desktop (0.3)
KDE Platform Version: 4.3.90 (KDE 4.3.90 (KDE 4.4 RC1))
Qt Version: 4.6.0
Operating System: Linux 2.6.31-17-generic x86_64
Distribution: Ubuntu 9.10

-- Information about the crash:
I have poped out a notification out of the notification area so that it now has its own widget on the plasma desktop. Whenever I move the widget there is first a visual effect which lets the widget reappear where I drop it and then plasma crashes. I have tested this with several notifications.

Steps to reproduce:

Create a notification (e.g. copy a file to somewhere).
Drag notification from notification area onto desktop.
Move the notification to other part of the desktop.

This is on Ubuntu 9.10 amd64 with KDE 4.4 RC (i think?) installed from the kubuntu-ppa. The machine is a recent 13.3 inch macbook pro with an nvidia-graphics card. It runs under the 185 nvidia propietary drivers. I have a 22" monitor hooked to the laptop and have the desktop expanded over the two screens (1920 x 1080 22" Monitor above 1280 x 800 laptop screen such that the laptop screen is centered).

Please let me know if I can provide more information.

Thanks
Paul

The crash can be reproduced every time.
