strange crash (likely a bug in xine-lib) - it happens for many distributions, it is reliably reproducable for some people (but doesn't happen at all for me = amd64 debian testing = also using xine 1.1.18.1). a workaround might be to disable deinterlacing (through the menu or by pressing "i"), there's not much I can do against this right now ...

By the number of duplicates it seems that this bug deserves at least to be marked as CONFIRMED, thanks.
Simone, so did you confirm the bug is in Kaffeine, and not in the xine library?

I submitted Bug #289210 yesterday, which was marked as a duplicate of this Bug. Per Christoph's comment above, I confirmed that disabling the "Deinterlace" option under the "Playback \ Video" menu entry resolved my error when opening FLV videos. I apologize for not recognizing that my issue was related to this bug because its title mentioned watching TV. :-)
Any news? I have reports about this at https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1934 and https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=4550 I can't reproduce myself, because I don't have dvb hardware.

Kaffeine, up to version 1.2.x, uses the libxine backend. Since version 1.3.x we're using libVLC with is more modern and has been actively maintained. As this bug was opened to an old version, I'm closing this bug. If you notice it on Kaffeine version 2.0.1, please re-open.
