What I was doing when the application crashed:
Here are the steps, though I cannot reproduce the crash:
 - Search something with Ctrl+F
 - Do something on the page (don't remember what, maybe just clicking and scrolling)
 - Try to resume search with F3
  (nothing happens -- search bar does not appear)
 - Try naively Ctrl+F to resume search
   (nothing happens)
 - Click on the page, thinking it is a focus issue
   (now it crashes)
