Version: (using KDE 4.3.4) Installed from: Gentoo Packages Many people that run KDE4 want the XML plugin for kate so they can use kate to write documentation.
Ok, well, uhm - first thanks for using kate - but this feature request is really totally useless. Please extend it with more information: - what should this plugin do? i.e. list the features that this imagined plugin comes with - are there existing implementations in other editors one could have a look at for inspiration? Other than that, this does somehow look more complex than what Kate is supposed to offer you. Please have a look at KDevelop and the new XML plugin for it in playground: http://websvn.kde.org/trunk/playground/devtools/kdevelop4-extra-plugins/xml/ I think this would be a better place. But well, without any kind of information from your side I don't know what exactly you want...
Actually, this was the wish that xmltools plugin to be ported on KDE 4 (now it is masked in CMakeLists.txt). Brief feature list can be found here: http://l10n.kde.org/docs/tools.php and there http://websvn.kde.org/trunk/KDE/kdesdk/kate/plugins/xmltools/README?revision=635994&view=markup
(In reply to comment #1) > > I think this would be a better place. But well, without any kind of information > from your side I don't know what exactly you want... It should be obvious: Port kdesdk/kate/plugins/xmltools/ to kde4, the kde documentation team needs this badly! I have updated the Kate/KWrite docs several times in kde 4, what about giving something back to the docs team ;-)
Ok, updated the title, thanks for the clarification Yuri. @ Burkhard: I never used this tool nor have I ever done any docbook related stuff. Hence it was not obvious to me at all.
