Description Fabian B. 2010-01-15 00:03:57 UTC
Version: 2.3.90 (using Devel)
Compiler: gcc 4.4.2
OS: Linux
Installed from: Compiled sources

Sites like Rapidshare dont work with kget most times. now i have tried to download aquaria beta2 from http://icculus.org/aquaria/ . kget shows error, file dont exist. but when i try the same url in wget/opera/firefox it works. same for neverball (which use icculus for filehost too)
Comment 1 Lukas Appelhans 2010-01-15 00:17:03 UTC
Yeah, I can confirm Rapidshare not working on RC1, but it doesn't show an error about file not existing here. :/

Comment 2 Dario Massarin 2010-01-15 12:10:36 UTC
We need Mat here...
Comment 3 Matthias Fuchs 2010-01-16 19:20:17 UTC
Please try again with "Search for verification information" _disabled_. You can find this option at "Settings/Configure Kget .../Plugins/Multi Segment KIO" and then retry.

With that setting disabled I cannot reproduce your issue with icculus.org.

In any case I'll try to come up with something that will work if that setting is enabled.
Comment 4 Fabian B. 2010-01-16 21:46:48 UTC
yep, no problem after disable this option

Comment 7 Matthias Fuchs 2010-02-02 14:14:25 UTC
Please reopen this bug if it still reoccurs in 4.4.
Comment 8 Fabian B. 2010-02-04 23:44:09 UTC
it dont work with megaupload.com, mediafire.com and hotfile.com
Version 2.3.98 from KDE SC 4.4 RC3
File is a *.mkv ( http://www.megaupload.com/?d=3YCL6EFM ~ anime )
kget still stand on 0% bot the status is "Download". I dont know if downloads on rapidshare failed too, rapidshare is still everytime "full". mediafire works sometimes.
Comment 9 Lukas Appelhans 2010-02-05 00:02:05 UTC
Well megaupload worked for me on RC2...

Lukas
Comment 10 Matthias Fuchs 2010-02-05 17:27:32 UTC
Hmm that is interesting, I just tried with Megaupload (a different link in fact) and it worked for me using the 4.4 Branch.
Comment 11 Matthias Fuchs 2010-02-05 17:28:26 UTC
Could you please retry and post the debug output here?
Comment 12 Fabian B. 2010-02-05 18:56:46 UTC
how can i find the debug output?

Comment 13 Matthias Fuchs 2010-02-06 11:57:08 UTC
Interesting I just got the same error as you did -- after downloading the same file several times from megaupload -- though it worked after a short time without me doing anything. Error 148 is a server timeout, so I don't think that this is KGet related.
Comment 14 niburu1 2010-12-01 21:59:45 UTC
I'm not sure if this is the same bug but I notice on certain sites that KGet doesn't complete downloads. The same is true for whatever method Rekonq uses, which is a kio slave I guess. If Rekonq and KGet use the same method (when Rekonq isn't set to use KGet, of course) then it's likely not a KGet bug.

I'm using KDE 4.5.3 on Kubuntu 10.10.
Comment 15 Matthias Fuchs 2010-12-02 14:21:42 UTC
Do KGet and Rekonq never complete the downloads on those sites?
Could you list some of them?

Once I was downloading something from one page -- forget which one -- and KGet failed, so I tried with wget and it failed too. Despite the server did not report any errors. After a while it worked for both.
So sometimes I suppose that it is not any program's but rather the web servers' fault.

That is also why I need a little more information, to try with different programs.
Especially if that helps me to narrow down the problem to a) KGet related b) KIO related or c) server/connection related.

To not forget this report I'll reopen it.
