Description Wes 2010-01-12 23:58:32 UTC
Application that crashed: knetworkmanager
Version of the application: v0.9
KDE Version: 4.3.1 (KDE 4.3.1) "release 6"
Qt Version: 4.5.3
Operating System: Linux 2.6.31.8-0.1-desktop i686
Distribution: "openSUSE 11.2 (i586)"

What I was doing when the application crashed:
The networkmanager crashed when I attempted to connect to a wireless network at my school. Ive have previously has it connected to my home wireless network flawlessly. Im running openSuse 11.2 on my Asus Eee pc netbook that has a built in wireless adapter. The crash consisted of my computer locking up for a minute or more while trying to connect to the network, forcing me to turn off the netbook.

KNM can't itself make your machine lock up; that sounds like a wireless driver bug.

Since it crashes every time this should be easy to fix. Could you please install NetworkManager-kde4-debuginfo from the the debug repo and get a full backtrace?

Also attach a tarball of ~/.kde4/share/apps/networkmanagement and ~/.kde4/share/config/networkmanagementrc to this bug report.

When you've done that, if you move both those paths aside you should be able to recreate the connection and hopefully KNM won't crash.
