The crash is related to GoogleGadgets. May be the googlegadgets library was also updated ? Regards
The Google Gadgets update seems to be the problem. I removed that and plasma-desktop starts up fine now. So is this a bug in the Debian version, or did they get it from upstream?
You could ask to the Debian packagers (or in its bugtracker) to check this. Regards
