Description David Rankin 2010-01-11 20:08:34 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.3.4)
Installed from: Unspecified

In KDE control center, when you select "Configure the login manager (KDM)" and then choose "Get New Themes", it is very frustrating to find nearly 1/2 the links to new themes are broken.

When you click on many of the links to download the themes, you get nothing. Examples are: "Peace", "NewEssenceFinal", etc...

I don't know how these links are maintained, but they need to be revisited. Something has gone whacko...

Is this really the exact same thing as Bug #179948? I see this, too… but the links are valid. I can right-click and Copy Link Location and paste them in my browser and they work. But clicking on them does nothing. Single- or double-clicking any of the Home Page links on the Details page does absolutely nothing. Links work in all other applications. My browser is registered properly.

When the links do work, they have to be double-clicked, not single-clicked, which completely breaks convention. Examples are the underlined item/theme names in the main screen, which pop up details view.

None of the links on the details view appear to work at all, no matter what, even when they are vaild.

Of course copying the link to a browser window works, but KNewStuff has no artificial intelligence to know how to proceed to actually download the files. The links are usually to various download sites, not to the files directly.
