Version: (using Devel) Installed from: Compiled sources Kopete opens plasma notifications when new messages arrive an a non-focussed chat window. In KDE 4.3.x, Kopete used to close those plasma notifications after focussing the window. In KDE 4.3.90 (4.4 RC1), with the new "recent messages" functionality in the plasma notifications, the notifications are not discarded after focussing the window but moved into recent messages. This makes it impossible to distinguish between seen messages and those which I missed. Additionally, the Kopete message stack grows insanely large.
I can confirm this. This is also true when a chat message is actively opened with the "view" button in the notification. The notification even stays totally open (with just the two buttons removed), when I click "ignore". The pile up in the recent-messages stack is also worsen by all the "user xyz has gone online" notifications that should also be completely deleted (at least optionally).
Will this issue be still there in KDE 4.5 even with new notifications implementation?
Fixed by the new notifications implementation in KDE SC 4.5.
