Description Toralf Förster 2010-01-07 19:23:00 UTC
Version: 1.12.3 (using 4.3.3 (KDE 4.3.3), Gentoo)
Compiler: i686-pc-linux-gnu-gcc
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.32.3

Having my ThinkPad T400 (1440x900 display) plugged into my docking station and using an external 1680x1050 monitor and supended it to ram, waked it up and now the icon vanished from the system tray panel. Howver kmail is still running as shown with ps -ef.

Same happened for the icon of amarok. After resume the systemtray panel is minimized. If I expand it the panel shows only the icons of kmix, kgpg and kwallet icon - all othrrs went away.

FWIW vanilla kernel 2.6.31.10 runs fine, w/ 2.6.32.3 I've this issue.
Comment 3 Toralf Förster 2010-01-23 17:17:02 UTC
I'll attach the .xsession-errors files for both 2.6.31.10 and 2.6.32.5 kernel despite "kernel upgrade should not break user space" is valid bc I'm not sure whether this is an issue of the kernel/i915/KMS subsystem or an issue of Xorg and/or KDE.

All files were derived by
1) login into KDE 4.3.3
2) cp .xsession-errors x.`uname -r`.before
3) suspend to ram
4) wakeup
5) cp .xsession-errors x.`uname -r`.after

system specific issue, not KDE's fault
