Did you stop the compression or quit Ark in the middle of the operation? Can you reproduce this crash?
I didn't stop or qui, bug can be reproduced each time I tried but I just obtain the same report again. I had to abandon the single idea of zipping this folder, and I just moved each non-zipped folder. NTFS disk was perfectly ok.
Have you checked if the crash also happens if the same 80G directory is structure is in another filesystem? Can you see if you can create a zip file > 4G?
Created attachment 39817 [details] Ark_Crash_NTFS_Disk and more than 1go file Ark crash while trying to unzip a zip and any other supported format file on a ntfs disk.
I have just tried to first unzip various zip format : tar, zip, rar... Each time archive bigger than 1Go - and for a tar only 278.5Mo...- and on a ntfs disk file Ark just crash. Whatever the disk is as long it's a ntfs... If I try to move them on a ext4 that's ok... I'm currently trying to compress a 4Go folder but first I must move him on a ntfs disk.
For smaller file under 800 - 900Mo Ark does not crash if I choose to extract after opening the archive, only if I choose with the right-click. For the ones over 1Go that doesn't change. I can zip folder over 4Go but only if it doesn't contain smalls files.
Coming back to this one: do you still experience this issue?
Closing while waiting for feedback from the reporter.
