What I was doing when the application crashed:
After having added a system monitoring widget (the wireless logging of which froze causing the widget to no longer accept inputs but to continue logging the other two selections, RAM and CPU) and logging out and back in to KDE (I upgraded a two kde3 libs), some widgets in the bottom bar were reorganised, apparantly to better suit plasma's desires. As I am the master, I began to put the widgets back in to order by removing the time widget. The crash happened shortly thereafter.
