Description K. C. Chan 2010-01-04 14:43:38 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.2.4)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

On January 3, 2010, the calendar (shown by clicking the clock) shows December 24, 2010.
If I keep trying to get to January 2010 by typing the date manually, Kicker dies without error message and the whole plasma background turns black.

Now that it's January 4, 2010, the calendar shows correctly but if I click or type January 3, 2010, it shows December 24, 2010. If I do that a few more time, Kicker again crashes without error message.

KDE 4.2 is not maintained anymore so you should upgrade to KDE 4.3 and see if the bug is still present there which I think it's not.
In KDE trunk (next coming 4.4) the calendar is working correctly.

Oh, is this known issue?

I did a lot of bugfixes to the plasma calendar for 4.3 around date maths, so this is almost certainly fixed in 4.3. If not then I did a big re-write of the code in 4.4 that would have fixed it as it Works For Me in 4.4. Closing as likely already fixed, there will be no more bugfix release for 4.2 or 4.3 to fix it if it was still a problem, and if it recurs in 4.4 it will be because of a different reason :-) Thanks for the report.
