Description Elmar Stellnberger (AT/K) 2010-01-03 20:59:23 UTC
Version: 4.3.1 (KDE 4.3.1) "release 9" (using 4.3.1 (KDE 4.3.1) "release 9", KDE:KDE4:STABLE:Desktop / openSUSE_11.2)
Compiler: gcc
OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.32.2-0.0.16.d8b32f9-desktop

Konqueror does not give javascript programs the opportunity to handle drag and drop events over images themselves. Draging over <img>-tags is pre-handled by konqueror and does always result in copying the image URI as input to another window which is highly undesirable in many cases and severly limits the opportunities given to javascript.
Just have a look at the maps offered at http://www.elstel.com/SeaLevelRise.html or http://www.elstel.com/Meeresspiegel.html.
If you zoom in an then try to move around by simple drag and drop the actual result is that no moving can take place as soon as the URI-drag is performed. After this Konqueror remains in javascript-drag mode and can only be released by another mouse click. Also have a look at the zoom location: It is supposed to zoom to the center.
Most browsers like Firefox and Opera let the drag events correctly be handled by javascript. Konqueror should at least disable the URI-drag feature as soon as an onMouseDown event listener is installed.
